📌 Important Note
This guide is for Crypto.com Exchange API keys, not the Crypto.com App. The Exchange
platform has advanced trading features and API access.
⚠️ Security First
NEVER grant trading or withdrawal permissions! Only enable read-only permissions as
described below to ensure your funds remain safe.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Log in to Crypto.com Exchange
Go to crypto.com/exchange and sign
in
-
Navigate to API Management
Click on your profile icon → Settings → API Keys
-
Create a new API key
Click Create New API Key or + New API Key
-
Name your API key
Enter a descriptive label like: "CryptoDashboard ReadOnly"
-
⚠️ CRITICAL: Set API Permissions
This is the most important step - select ONLY read permissions:
- ✅ Read Only - CHECK THIS BOX
- ❌ Trade - DO NOT CHECK
- ❌ Withdraw - DO NOT CHECK
- ❌ Withdraw to Whitelist - DO NOT CHECK
-
Complete 2FA verification
Crypto.com requires two-factor authentication:
- Enter your 2FA code from authenticator app
- Confirm via email verification code (if required)
-
Copy your credentials
After creation, you'll see:
- API Key - A long alphanumeric string
- Secret Key - Another long string (shown only once!)
Important: Copy both immediately - the Secret Key won't be shown again!
-
Paste into CryptoDashboardPlus
Return to the "Connect Exchange" modal and paste:
- API Key → API Key field
- Secret Key → API Secret field
🔐 Store Your Secret Key Safely
Crypto.com shows the Secret Key ONLY ONCE. If you lose it, you'll need to delete the API key
and create a new one. Store it in a password manager or secure location.
✅ What CryptoDashboardPlus Can Do

- View your account balances
- Read your trade history
- Access order information
- View position details
What it CANNOT do:
- ❌ Execute trades
- ❌ Withdraw funds
- ❌ Transfer crypto
- ❌ Modify account settings
- ❌ Cancel orders

Troubleshooting
- API key not working? Make sure you selected "Read Only" permission
- Getting authentication errors? Verify you copied the entire Secret Key without extra
spaces
- "Invalid signature" error? Check that both API Key and Secret are correct and not swapped
- Permission denied? Ensure only "Read Only" is checked, not "Trade" or "Withdraw"
- Can't create API key? Make sure you're on the Exchange platform, not the Crypto.com App
- 2FA not working? Verify your authenticator app time is synchronized
💡 Additional Tips
- You can create multiple API keys with different permissions
- API keys don't expire but can be manually disabled or deleted
- Consider setting up IP whitelisting for extra security (optional)
- Regularly audit your active API keys and remove unused ones
